Fire the Grid 2
Painted 7/17/07 and inspired by my participation in the Fire the Grid ceremony I attended in the early morning hours.  I came home and painted 3 paintings in succession within just a few hours time.  This was the second painting--look for 1 and 3 coming soon.
In this painting, Mother Earth's core is at the center and there is energy pouring into and out of her from our world and beyond.  I don't know if all the prayers and meditation helped that day, but it could not have hurt and it brought me the inspiration to paint where there had been none for many months.

Fire the Grid 1
This was the first painting I did upon returning from the Fire the Grid meditation.  Throughout the meditation I kept thinking about all the beautiful things of this world that were in danger--clean air, clear water, forests, plants, trees...all the things we take for granted and are too close to losing.  In this painting I see all of those things reaching out  and trying to hang on to life on this planet.

Fire the Grid 3
This painting was one I actually started the day before but had no idea what to do with it.  Once I finished FTG 1 and 2, I turned to this unfinished painting and began to see something like bright lights shining out from places all over the earth where high earth saving energy was being sent out.  This is my daughter, Madison's favorite.

The Gift of Depression--Insight and Appreciation Through the Grey Misty Rain.

Miss Communication
You say one thing, they hear something completely different and then reply.  Their reply comes back to you in a completely different way than they meant it.  How does this happen?? I see a blue filter in between these communications--one that garbles and messes up all types of communication.  Don't blame the other person for not hearing you, blame the blue line!

Crossroads
16X20 Stretched Canvas May 2006
Some of the most memorable times of my life have been those times I find myself standing at a crossroad, trying to figure out which path to take.  This painting contains a number of crossroads, all surrounded by chaotic swirls and colors.  No matter which road you choose, there you are.  And down the road--more choices to be had.

Hike to Integrity 1
16X10 Stretched canvas
Painted April 2006
As I've been struggling with my own life these past few months, I feel I am being asked to make hard choices.  I've never been one to take the easy road, the easy way out of anything--I often choose to take a more difficult "hike."  As I've been ruminating on what this hike means to me, I got a vision of a hike up a mountain; a life of choices where one chooses the path to integrity.  And to me, integrity is looking back on your life at the end and feeling like it was a well lived life--that there are few regrets.  So I got into trying to paint this hike and mountains and such and there is the abstract version of the mountain of integrity I'm trying to hike.

Hike to Integrity 2
Painted April 2006
30X40 on stretched canvas
Another version of the hike.  This one a little more realistic than the first but still very abstract.  It's meant to depict a hike that can take many forms (indicated by different slopes and colors of the mountains).

Hike to Integrity 3
Yet another version of the Hike to Integrity theme I'm currently on.  This one is more realistic than I usually paint.  I'm much more comfortable with the abstract but every now and then something a little realistic paints itself onto the canvas.
